Call for Participation

Teenagers are a highly unique user group that represent a growing technology market. However teenagers are rarely considered within the area of UX. The theme of this workshop is Building a Bridge to the Future and the aim is to gather together academics and UX practitioners, interested in teen users specifically, in order to discuss experiences, understandings, insights and methods that we can use to comprehend teen UX now and explore how this may lead to the creation of better interactive products in the future.

Workshop Submissions

The workshop seeks a wide variety of contributions including:

  • Working considering theory or frameworks of UX relevant to teenage users
  • Work bringing new insights and understanding of teenagers as technology user and participants relevant to UX
  • Work proposing new methods or adapting existing methods for working with teenagers in the context of UX
  • Case studies describing work with teenagers focusing on UX

Submission Details

Authors are asked to submit a 4 page case study in the CHI extended abstracts format to dbfitton@uclan.ac.uk by 1st February, 2014. A short biography of the author(s) attending the workshop needs to be included (100-150 words). If accepted, at least one author must register for the workshop and for at least one day of the conference. The Workshop organizers may decide to cap the number of attendees per accepted position paper. Papers will also be compiled on the workshop website.
